Stretch Goal Unlocked: New Miracle Cards

We’ve unlocked our first stretch goal, and two new Miracle Cards are now officially part of Eight Nights.

• The Maccabee
  1 beats an 8 of the same suit. This single rule change disrupts expected outcomes and forces players to rethink what is truly safe in a trick.
• The Gift
  Before bidding begins, each player passes one card and receives one card. Hands shift, information changes, and bids must be made with added uncertainty.

These Miracle Cards add tension and replayability while keeping the core trick-taking experience intact. Familiar mechanics remain, but each round asks players to adapt in new ways. Both Miracle Cards will be included in every copy of Eight Nights.

We’re currently working on the artwork for these new Miracle Cards and look forward to sharing it soon.

What’s Next

Our next stretch goal is at $6,000, which will unlock a 2-player cooperative mode where two players work together against a “ner-bot,” using the same core mechanics in a cooperative format.

 We’re Funded! Moving Into Stretch Goals

Eight Nights is officially funded. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this milestone.

Reaching our funding goal means the game is moving forward to production. It also means the campaign now shifts into its next phase: stretch goals and continued refinement.

What we’re working toward

As the campaign continues, we’re actively playtesting and refining the stretch goals we’ve shared:

Additional Miracle Cards
New effects that add variety, replayability, and fresh decision points each round.

2-Player Cooperative Mode
A new way to play where two players work together against a “ner-bot,” using the same core mechanics in a tighter, cooperative format.

Both stretch goals build directly on the core game without changing its foundation. They’re designed to deepen the experience while keeping the game fast and approachable.

We’ll share more details as designs are finalized and these goals come into reach.

A note on availability

Eight Nights is planned as a small, intentional first print run and is not currently slated for wide retail release. Backing the campaign is the best way to guarantee a copy and receive all unlocked stretch content.

Premium Edition Update: Components & Add-On Details

We’re excited to share more details about the Premium Edition of Eight Nights.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working closely with our manufacturing partners to lock pricing, materials, and production feasibility. Based on that work, we’re confident enough to officially list the Premium Edition upgrades.

What’s Included in the Premium Edition

The Premium Edition replaces several standard cardboard components with higher-quality, tactile upgrades designed to elevate the table experience:

• Metal gelt coins (12 per game)
• Wooden flame tokens
• Upgraded applesauce / sour cream tokens 
• Physical dreidel first-player marker

As always, final materials and finishes may be adjusted slightly as production is finalized, but the overall value and intent of the Premium Edition will not be reduced.

Premium Edition as an Add-On

The Premium Edition is also available as an add-on for backers who would like additional upgraded copies.

To ensure quality and on-time delivery, Premium Edition quantities will be limited.

Premium Components as Individual Add-Ons

At this time, Premium components are not available as individual add-ons. We’re offering the Premium Edition as a complete, fully upgraded version of the game to keep production and fulfillment straightforward.

If anything changes later in the campaign, we’ll communicate that clearly before fulfillment.

Campaign Check-In: Progress, Feedback, and What’s Next

Hi everyone,

We wanted to share a quick check-in on where things stand. We’ve now passed 100 backers and are over 75% funded, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support and engagement so far.

As the campaign has progressed, we’ve been listening closely to feedback from backers and followers. A few consistent themes have come up, and we’ve already started incorporating that input into the next refinement pass of the game.

What we’re working on now

Card corner icons
We’re updating the card layout to make the suit easier to read at a glance during play. This is a clarity improvement aimed at making the game feel smoother and more intuitive at the table, and more color-blind friendly, especially as rounds move quickly.

What we’re working toward next

• Additional Miracle Cards to add more variety and replayability
• A 2-player cooperative mode, where players work together against a ner-bot

The additional Miracle Cards and the 2-player cooperative mode are part of our stretch goals. We’ll share more details as those goals come into reach and designs are finalized.
